My manager signed mine at the end of the letter on the second page. Is this sufficient, or does the first page need to be signed too? Also, there's no company seal; is that alright? Thanks.

Edit: oh, and one more question: my letter was signed by the head of my department rather than HR; that's fine, right?

No, both pages don't need to be signed. No need for a company seal either. Just follow the requirements listed by CIC (company letterhead, address and contact info, etc.).

My letter was two pages on the company letterhead, signed only on the second page. No company seal.

Hi can you post the link here for the CIC requirement you are referring to. Thanks : )

Thanks! And do you reckon I'll be alright since the letter is from my head of department rather than HR?

Look under "Proof of Work Experience"

The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

a reference or experience letter from the employer, which

  • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
  • should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits

Just a quick note - your department head is your immediate supervisor, right? If not, get it signed by your 1-up manager or by HR
I have a team leader too, but they don't have enough clout to sign off on this kind of letter. In any case, the letter names the signatory as my manager, so I reckon it should be fine.

Dear friend,

I also have two pages of reference letter, does my second page also need to have company letter head on it? My hr only signed second page.

Thanks and best regards

Generally, yes. But if HR has signed the page without the letterhead, and it has the HR manager's contact information (email, phone, etc), it should be fine.
