Hi,

I assessed myself with the basic IELTS score, but the total point is more than 67. So DO I HAVE TO EXPECT TO SUBMIT THE HIGHER SCORE OF IELTS FOR SINGAPORE HIGH COMMISSION? I have a brother in Canada, I am looking for an arranged employment there.

Please help me with this matter!! Many Thanks!

You should take the IELTS to prove that you have basic knowledge if you are claiming it. Otherwise they might give you no points for language.

Hi Leon,

Actually, I did register to take the IELTS test at the end of this month, but I am still nervous about that because I haven't done this test before. Is it ok if they give me Zero point of Language with more than 67 points totally?

Thanks Leon

If you have enough points without it, you should be fine, you can see at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG74.asp that you would need to have score of 4.0 or higher on IELTS to get some points. If you have a score of 4.0 to 4.9 on only 1 category, you could get 1 point. If you get between 4.0 and 4.9 in every category, you could get 4 points.

Thanks, Leon.

What's wrong if one ability is lower than 4.0? Is it still OK? I meant, for example, that Listening is 3.0- Speaking is 4.0-Reading is 4.0-Writing is 4.0. Please give me your opinion, Leon!

Yeah, you just can't claim a point for your score that is lower than 4. If you have 3,4,4,4 you could get 3 points for English.
