It's so hard to wait especially reading all this post since you realize everybody's process takes different times regardless of the time they filed. Do you think I'll be asked for an interview? Or do you know if they only do so at the beginning of the process? I hope I don't need one since I don't live in bogota. Our lawyer said it was a matter of a couple of months until I am there but I see that less and less likely every time I'm on this forum and read about everyone's cases. We just have to take things day by day. At least it looks like you are at the end of your process! Good luck!
Well our cases are different. We have what they call Non routine cases, and they take longer. They got in contact with me in april 2011, 2 months after they received the application, they requested the payment for 35 thousand pesos and my libreta militar, which I sent right away, then did not hear anything from them until 12 months later, on March 2012, they requested an interview, then at the end of the interview the VO asked me to redo medicals, pay the fee for the ARC, submit the application along with the letter explaining why I should be allowed back to Canada, and also the schedule A background declaration form, he said it would take a few months. I submited all of that within a week. Then Back in november they sent me an email asking to pay 60 thousand pesos for the colombian risk management wtvr and again another schedule A background declaration form, also the generic application form for canada. sent that the next day. Still waiting, and a bit worried because the medicals will expire in april. Every case its different, yours seems to go faster. hope it keeps going that way!

Hey Dani_y28,
Thank you for your response! I guess I will ask a lawyer first if I need an ARC because I don't want to delay my application by having them ask for things and wait for me to respond. All you submitted was a letter? Did you write it yourself or did a lawyer do it for you?

We kind of wrote it together, or well my immigration case was at her office so she guided my husband who is in Canada and they completed it together then sent it to me and I added some stuff. It really isn't difficult at all but I would suggest you ask your lawyer for guidance. It is better to send them something very complete.
