I came to Canada around a month back on a Spousal Open Work Permit Visa and I am a internationally educated nurse but my work permit condition reads "not authorized to work in childcare, primary/secondary school teaching, health service field occupations" am I eligible to work as PSW (Personal Support Worker) here in Toronto?

Not until you take a medical and change the conditions on your work permit. Google - change conditions work permit.

Hi,

The work permit is your authorization to work and you have limiting Terms & Conditions (T's & C's), as you have noted.

If a person wishes to change their T's & C's then the person applies just as they would for an extension of the document. The application to extend also manages any terms and conditions. It seems to take quite a lengthy time so best to get on it.

You have to do it; you shouldn't have to do it - that's between you and Immigration to sort out.

Already told you. You apply to change the conditions on your work permit. You say you took an IRCC medical so take that medical and number and apply to change conditions. Being a nurse is not relevant.

If you have done the medical in the past year you should be able to change the terms on your visa. There are extra terms of conditions when working with children, patients or elderly people because they are more vulnerable to communicable diseases for example. I order to work in healthcare setting, in daycares/schools, etc. you need proof that you don’t have any health conditions that could be transmitted to the more vulnerable population. It is fairly easy to get rid of the condition

So, I apply for a new work permit, that's what you are saying and if so how do I do it? I am having trouble figuring it out.
