I became a permanent resident in October 2014 and gave my IELTS on August 2013. I scored an overall 8.

Now I plan to apply for my wife's PR in EE. I was checking out the score sheet and it gave her points for my IELTS score. But that score is now 2.5 years old and will be invalid now. Will I need to take IELTS again for her to get the points?

Thanks in advance.

If your wife plans to apply for PR through EE - then yes, she will need to retake IELTS. If you plan to sponsor her through spousal sponsorship - then no.

Hello scylla, Thanks again for your help. She will be taking IELTS. She is the applicant. Do I need to retake it so that she gets extra points? In the score calculator there are points for my English skills. My IELTS is 2.5 years old.

You can add up to 20 CRS points to your wife's profile depending on the results of your new IELTS. So you should retake the test if your wife's score is not competitive against current ITA trends.

No - he won't. He's already a PR so his English skills (as well as his education) won't add any points to her application. Only her own points will count.
