IELTS Speaking

Hi all, does anyone know who decides the band score for IELTS Speaking? As per my understanding, it is the person who is taking the speaking test. The reason I am asking this question is because, last week I had speaking test and lady who was taking this test was recording all the conversation. If she is the one who will decide the band score, why is she recording the conversation? Is it like, she will listen that over and over then decide the band or will send to someone who will decide the band?

Tarun, there could be multiple things...

The recording could be for archive or audit.
Some other person may be doing the evaluation to remove any bias which the examiner may have developed during face-to-face.
There is a mechanism to get your IELTS re-evaluated @ Rs.5000. It could be for that.

My quetion is, how does that does that matter to you? It could be anyone, for that matter.

IELTS is supposed to be a very transparent process. So, you will be evaluated without prejudice or bias.
