IELTS score updating after applying - please answer

Hi
Please can anyone answer this . Below is our situation
IELTS test score is CLB 9 for 3 parts and CLB8 for speaking. Planning to improve the score and get CLB9 for all the sections. With the current score can we apply for immigration and later is it possible to update the better score ( if it gets improved! ) ?
I hope the question is clear. Is there any priority date or something like that so that we need to apply at the earliest?

Thank you so much for the reply. Got CLB 9 for reading & listening, CLB 10 for writing and only CLB8 for speaking. If the score is CLB9 or above for all the 4 sections in IELTS I see the addition of 50 points. I hope I can get better score next time so that it will be CLB 9 for all. Are you sure that we can submit the profile and update the main applicant's score later?

You can change information on your profile up until the time you actually submit the application for PR. I updated my education from a bachelors to a masters degree to get more points after I submitted the initial express entry profile.
