Please don't under estimate

Anyone who got above 7.5 and says that a band score above 7.5 is not hard either a lucky person or a liar. I was the administrator and chief trainer at an IELTS coaching centre (as it is called here) and anything above 7.5 is pretty hard. I scored 8.5 overall in academic with full for reading and listening modules. You can see my IELTS TRF at c477902.r2.cf0.rackcdn.com/Jimmy-George-IELTS-(academic)-TRF-page.jpg . I am sick and tired of seeing people who give false hope to others just because they were fortunate to have a great score. 90% of IELTS coaching centres doesn't know how to approach this time bound test and they teach it like spoken English. And one other thing with a high band score is that there is not much benefit in having that because, the visa officer is just looking for the minimum score and anything above that doesn't matter much. I applied for a study visa and had an interview and the visa officer didn't even mentioned a single word about my 1 in 100 band score. You might think that I have excellent English but the fact is that I still make a LOT of mistakes.

According to the way you write English Kamal, you deserve a 5 in writing. Anything above that would be a sacrilege. Where is this miracle center that graded you? We should all take the exam there to get bumped three underserved bands.

Actually you do and I can pinpoint every mistake that you've made but your English is better than the other Indians that have commented here. I got a 7 in writing and I followed the correct structure and tone, completed the required words and completed the task but I got a 7. I see some people in here with horrible English that claim to have scored 8 and up in writing. Is it me or does luck matter where you take the test?
