Hi,

My wife scored the following in IELTS exam.

L-8,R-8,W-6.5,S-7

Just fell short by 0.5 in writing. Shall we go for a reevaluation?? Has someone got a positive outcome in reevaluation?

My initial score: 8.5, 8.5, 7.0, 6.5 (L,R, W, S)

After re evaluation for speaking, it was increased to 7.0, but I did attempt another time because the re assesment takes about two months.

I gave 4 times with idp got CLB 10 in all except writing 6.5 4 TIMES
i did apply for revaluation also but no luck.
then i decided to give British council i got 7 in writing lol

good luck

Hi,

I got 6 in writing.I applied for re-evaluation and my writing band rose to 7. So, you can go for re-evaluation.

I have a feeling that IELTS exam is checked in India only. Once someone applies for reevaluation then papers go to Australia for checking if IDP is the assessing body or UK is British Council. At their level, chances are high that scores will increase. May be it is deliberate to make candidates write another exam and get 11k INR in their pockets and they have a fair idea that only 5% people will apply for revaluation and will get their money back. Because if writing scores can increase from 6 to 7 then surely its deliberate.

Yes, even i think so...it was my second IELTS attempt and i didn't want to go through that painful procedure again and i was super- confident after my exam that 7 is the least i will get in writing. When I saw my result, I was shocked to see 6 bands in writing.
Its very sad truth that they have made this money making business. Because of it, i lost my chance of ITA last month and this time the CRS score was very high.
All the best to you!
