hello everybody, congrats to all good scorers, and best wishes for all. I did the Academic Module since I was trying to be ready for many opportunities, I sat for the exam in December 10th, and got overall band 8
L=9, R=8, W=7.5, S=7
I was prepared for the exam 6 months earlier; I began by a book called "Ielts Intermediate" wich contains all 4 parts of the test, then practised some complete test samples, in the last 2 months I went for "Ielt Master Class" book which was hard but really interesting and informative. I downloaded MP3 listening files from the following website (learnenglish.britishcouncil.org) and talked in english with my fiancee.
Since CIC request the General Training version, I must sit again for it.
Note that languages are Skills not Knowledge.
Best wishes for All

hi! hope u can also help me with my ielts. thanks.

Hello,

My scores are as follows:

Listening: 6.5
Reading: 7.0
Writing: 6.5
Speaking: 8.0

Overall band:7.0

I currently have 70 pts for my FSW application. Since I got 6.5 and not 7.5 on the Listening part I was 2 pts short on getting the full 16pts for language. I know I can do better... Would it make sense to take the test again eve though I have 70pts already and scored 14 out of 16 possible points for English? Would a higher score impress more the IO? Eve though I already have 70pts to qualify for FSW?
Your opinions and comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

You don't have to impress the VO, you are ok with what u have........

not required, you already have 67 points!!!!

If I got 7 minimum in each band, i would apply aussie PR rather than Canada
