It was in my favour for me.
I wrote my IELTS and scored following bands:

S: 7.5
R: 7.5
L: 7
W: 5.5

then I did Remarking for Writing.
Got 6.5

How long did it take for the remarking and is it possible that your grade go down?

It usually take 2 months + for remarking results to come out
That is why a lot of people prefer re taking an IETLS Exam which serves the purpose in just 45 days. Moreover, fees for remarking is 7-8K INR

no, either its unchanged or increase.
if you are confident that you did better then go for revaluation, there are many successful cases of revaluation with increase of 0.5, 1 band .

i did remarking once
They gave me the same score
Actually remarking cost almost the same as taking a new test
However you may have the result for new test faster than the remarking

I am going to redo the exam,am having 2 main reasons to do the remarking, the first is one never knows how good will i be doing in the 2nd exam, the 2nd is that the examiner was totally unfair in the speaking exam and am 100 percent sure that i deserved at least a 7.5 so its a personal thing i dont want that examiner to get out with such an under rating that easy cause obviously it was a clear discrimination plus it drove me crazy that they are letting non native speakers do the test

I had my test remarked, because of my writing score (originally 6.5),I was very sure of what I had written on my test and i knew this score was not correct. The review took exacty 8 weeks and my final writing score went up to 8.0. Remarking costs half of the price of the test, and I was refunded the full amount because my score went up. For me it was worth it
