Ielts overall 8.5 or retake for 9?

Hi there,

I just received my IELTS test score today with an overall band score of 8.5; Listening: 8.5, Reading: 9, Writing: 7 and Speaking 8.5.

The problem is I wasn't too confident that I would get such good results and so booked another IELTS test date which is next week. However since I've got a pretty good score I was wondering if I should try and get a refund on my next IELTS score or should I aim to get a higher score?

Will my overall CRS score increase if I manage to get higher in Listening and Reading?

Appreciate any and all advise.

Since you already paid try for 7.5 in writing if you need 3 more points. You won't get a refund this late.

Congrats on your good score. what's your CRS score using this IELTS result? If it's above 441. create your EE profile ASAP. You can call them/mail them that you'll like for someone else to register using the money you've already paid and gift the exam to someone else who needs a higher score (if such a thing is possible), because I honestly don't think they issue refunds unless you can't take the exam due to unforeseen circumstances/illness/death.

No you can only get 3 more points for a 7.5 in writing. you already have the maximum for R& L.

It's still CLB 9,you can aim for CLB 10 in case your CRS isn't high enough
