Could the above estimates have been superseded by more specific figures in the table found in the Canadian Experience Class application guide (cic. gc. ca / english / information / applications / guides / 5609ETOC. asp), under "Using your test results"? It lists the IELTS equivalents for CLBs from 4 to 8. Unfortunately it does not specify the IELTS equivalents for CLB 9.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'superseded by more specific figures in the CEC application guide"?

The CEC figures (from OP-25) converting IELTS to CLB level were used to develop the table to get estimates based on current conversion levels. In addition, to get the points you need to use the Canada Gazette proposed law to convert the CLB levels to points.

The minimum language score I think is a good move, although I'd prefer to see it for all applicants not just the principal applicant, but it's a good start.

What amazes me though, if tweets from Jason Kenney are genuine, is that there will be no in-demand list.

So the first X applications through the door with experience in any Skill 0, A or B noc/job will be accepted.

It's gonna be one hell of a headless chicken rush when the applications open for business!!

Indeed!

It'll be interesting to see how long the education credential evaluation takes and what the relative evaluation time is for various backgrounds. There's also an interesting comment in the Gazette:

"Education points would be awarded based on the equivalent Canadian educational credential and points would be redistributed in recognition of the credential’s relevance in the Canadian labour market."

Dear Spartan,

Thanks for your reply, can you tell me how you knew the mentioned minimum bands for each ability.

In gazette.gc.ca

It is mentioned "Minimum threshold in all abilities-Initially set at CLB/NCLC 7" not Minimum threshold in each ability

Regards
