Hi,

I am practicing listening tests and many times my answers match 2 words out of 3 in the answer keys. Or 1 out of 2 words. Is it a correct answer in such case?. Please advise.

The instructions would have a limit of 3 and 2 words respectively.

Also, are paper based listening tests evaluated manually?

Grab the reponse vervatim.

if they say "We apply discounts and special pricing to senior citizens"

and the question is; What visitors apply to special pricing?

your response should be " Senior Citizens"

Try to match the word limit that is asked for in the question. Also practice many listening tests before the exam day. Many good websites are there to practice these. like ielts-up.com etc
Also, exam is marked by humans

When practicing listening tests, if your answers partially match the answer keys (e.g., 2 out of 3 words), they may not be considered correct unless they exactly fit the required word count specified in the instructions. The instructions usually set a limit on the number of words, so it's important to match the key terms precisely. Regarding paper-based listening tests, they are typically evaluated manually. For further insights on improving your accuracy and understanding ChatGPT might be a helpful tool to explore.

When the instructions specify a limit of 2 or 3 words, it’s important to match the exact number of words stated. If your answer only matches part of the required words, it’s usually considered incorrect in most exams. For instance, if the answer is “black leather shoes” and you only write “black shoes,” it won’t be accepted. Make sure to always match the full number of words. As for paper-based listening tests, they are generally evaluated manually, ensuring every detail is checked properly. If you're working on managing business or financial accounts like Upsers.
