My friend with the same score, same degree, 5 years younger than me is getting 440

You cracked the code. Your friend is 5 years younger than you. How old are you and how old is your friend? Age is a major factor in CRS points.

No you cannot mix and match.

Is it? I think the only difference between Academic and GT is writing task 1. The rest I think they are pretty much the same.

Speaking and listening is the same for academic and general. Reading and writing are different.

is there bonus point for all CLB10 as well? I achieved all CLB10 except R and my score bumped to 471, however if I change my R to 8 my score only increases to 474.

Hello all,

I gave IELTS test on 25th March and got below result:
L - 8
S - 7.5
R - 7
W - 6

Now my query is that can I apply for just re-evaluation of writing module? If yes then are there any chances of writing score going more low?
I was expecting 7 in writing and have no clue why got such low score.

Re-evaluation fee is not problem if there are even 1% of chance of score getting increased.

Please advise if some have any similar experience? Do writing score go down in evaluation as I am afraid and it will be disaster if it goes below 6.

There is a huge amount of points to get in skills transferability for clb 9 or 10.

There is no guarantee that it will increase by 1 whole point. Usually people see a 0.5 increase. You will also have to wait 6-8 weeks. If you wish to go for remarking, by all means go for it as it is your choice. My suggestion would be to simultaneously prepare for another test. If your score increases to 6.5, it is no good and you would be wasting 6-8 weeks and then starting to prepare again. The new CRS point system to include francophones and one with Canadian siblings starts in June and people's scores will increase.

Many thanks buddy for your reply.

Please advise >> are there any chances of score going more low? or in worst case they give same score?

Yes, because AGE matters.
1 year = 5 points

yes. One can get the max points for transferability with CLB9. CLB 10 will fetch more points in the official language proficiency section only.

the worst scenario is that they will leave your score unchanged

Never heard of anyone getting a lower score. Worst case, you will get the same score after a delay of 6-8 weeks. Better to appear for another exam and improve your score.

Just one more doubt. While my result is under re-checking can I use current score in Express Entry Application?
