Way of writing matters if you start with dear sir ,then u have to introduce yourself ,such as my name is John,one of the marketing advisers at tech solutions ilford firm. If u start with mr.brown there is no point mentioning ur designation and name as you both know each other really wellYeah why not

You can just write name in formal letters too. In most western countries, there isn’t any power distance between superiors and the subordinates.
