General IELTS only!

Yep, apparently only General. But that's very strange - why is that the case?

Academic is more difficult and is taken by those applying for schools (Colleges and Universities)

For all other purposes (Work/Immigration/Other) applicants should take General Training since it's not so geared towards academic purposes

That's what makes it odd. One would assume that, given the higher difficulty of the Academic test, it should be more than enough to qualify.

no... only general module....

Because it is difficult to get a good score in general module although the question is easier than academic module.

Your consultant is not telling the facts. IELTS scores are valid for up to 2 years. Its a sign that you should stop spending money on this consultant as he/she have demonstrated their lack of knowledge. All the best

Mate, your consultant may be asking to increase your score. otherwise, Ielts validity is for 2 years.

Dear Senior Members,

After Receiving AOR, I have asked from London Visa Office that my Language abilities are not sufficient against my NOC 0631. My Submitted IELTS results were Listening 5, Reading 5, Writing 5 & Speaking 5.5, Overall 5.0. They given a 90 days time period to me for explanation.

I have retaken the IELTS exam. Now my updated results is following. please suggest if now bands are sufficent. I am going to submit my updated result .

Listening 6, Reading 5.5, Writing6.5 & Speaking 6.0, Overall 6.0.

Note: My case submitted in Oct 2014 without Express Entry & i am a PNP applicant nominated in SINP.

Thanks in Advance.

Check this:

cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/language-testing.asp

It says:

IELTS: International English Language Testing System
IELTS has two options for the reading and writing tests: “General Training” and “Academic.” You must take the “General Training” option.

All the best!
