Hi,

I have all documents ready for Express Entry (as I sent another application to FSW 2014 which was returned to me due to cap limit). I can submit my express entry profile today (March 31). I took my IELTS on April 27, 2013, so I believe it expires on April 27, 2015, right?. Would that be an issue? I guess next round of invitations is April 20, 2015 right?

This was discussed in some other thread also in this forum. If the IELTS is valid only till the time you complete EE application, you need not re-take it. So, say if it expires after you submitted EE application but before your EE is processed, it will still be considered.

Hi,

Please refer to Q.no 47 of the FAQ. It is clearly mentioned that when we apply under EE our language test scores should be valid. Not just at the time when we create the profile.

"They must be valid at the time an application for permanent residence under Express Entry is submitted." as explained by CIC

So if anyone's IELTS scores gonna expire, better take a new test and put some effort in improving the score.

Yes I think George you should re-take IELTS if you don't understand difference between creating EE profile (which you referred in your post) vis-a-vis completing EE application (which I referred in my post).

Thanks both of you for your replies. Now, AgentC, sorry for my ignorance about EE, but what do you exactly mean by 'completed'? Here is my scenario: all my documents are ready, and as soon as CIC says I can send my app. Now I am not sure what you mean by complete! From now till April 27, 2015 would there be 2 draws?

Thanks.

It is unclear whether you are simply posting your profile on EE (in which case you must retake your IELTS, the sooner the better) or if you have an ITA and are ready to send your permanent residence application in, in which case you do not need to retake the test.

You can post your profile with your score that is valid on the day you post. But if it expires before you get an invitation to apply and are ready to upload your permanent residence application, you must retake it.

For instance, I created my EE profile in February. I included my IELTS results, valid until April 6. I got an ITA on March 27. I cannot finish documenting my permanent residence application by April 5 (darn those police certificates!), so I must retake the test and include new results with my permanent residence application.

One doesn't need to retake IELTS if the score expires after getting ITA (even before s/he submits documents in response to ITA). If the score expires before getting ITA (before creating EE profile, after creating EE profile, whatever whatever.. ), s/he needs to retake ITELS.
