Yes, you have to resit the test and submit new scores, providing your CRS will not drop below the cut off of the draw.
Thank you, Lailina. I have registered for a new IELTS test for the coming week. And once I get my test results, how and where do I update or inform CIC of my new test result? As I am in the process of uploading each of my document in my Express Entry profile after receiving my ITA, there is no slot for uploading IELTS test result form. Or do I simply attach it along with my educational certificates and ECA? That is how I have uploaded my current IELTS score sheet now.

Hey, if your score is going to expire before submitting your application I.e. eAPR then you need to withdraw your application & your score will be based on your new IELTS score. Ensure to submit your appplication before score expire.

My score has apparently expired. I still have 60+ days to submit my application. Are you saying I must decline my ITA and wait to obtain a new ITA altogether after getting my new IELTS score??

If your new scores sustain your CRS higher than the cut-off of the draw u received ITA, then no need to decline. But if your results will drop your CRS lower, then yes, you will have to decline ITA

Ok. Thanks a lot. I shall try my best to score the same or a higher score in my IELTS this time. I hope they will accept my letter of explanation too.

Yes, and specifically this part (emphasis mine)

If you’ve been invited to apply for permanent residence
Check that your language test results will still be valid when you plan to apply.

If you haven’t been invited to apply for permanent residence
You may want to make sure your results are valid for the rest of the time you’ll be in the pool.

If your results will expire before you can apply, you should:
  • be tested again or
  • apply before your test results expire or
  • decline the invitation and go back into the pool to be considered in the future

If you apply for permanent residence with language test results that have expired, we’ll refuse your application.

Thanks a lot. I gave my IELTS yesterday. Hopefully I will get a good score this time too.

Dear All,

Please advise its very urgent, I am submitting my ITA on 10th Feb 2019 and my IELTs is about to expire on 11th Feb 2019. Should I need to re-take the exam or I can go ahead for the submission.

Please reply at the earliest.

Once u get your ITA, everything gets locked. I faced the same issue once. My IELTS was due to expire within a week before I submitted my application. I asked a so-called expert about it and he adviced me to decline my ITA and withdraw my application, retake IELTS and get into the pool again. I did that and wasted a lot of time re-writing IELTS several times to get a certain score. It was not required. I could have gone ahead and accepted my ITA then and submitted all my documents.
Go ahead and submit it, if you are sure you can submit all ur documents before the expiry date of your IELTS results. Or else, make sure you decline your ITA and get back into the pool.

You should get the AOR before the expiry of IELTS. In your case, there's one day between so it is fine if you get AOR instantly (99% people get it same day in fact within an hour)

Just a small correction for the sake of precision, do not want any miscommunication to spoil someone's life plans......... @
anushaji2010 is correct except this phrase "Once u get your ITA, everything gets locked.", this is wrong, things only get locked on receiving AOR which happens after you apply eAPR. There is at most a 60 day gap between ITA and AOR so make sure everything is valid when you receive your AOR.

Hey! You’re right. Everything gets locked at AOR, not ITA stage. Sorry for that.

Once after the AOR received, score is freezed and in any circumstances it don't change. That includes
1. IELTS Expiry
2. Age increase
3. WES expiry
4. Married /Divorced/Birth - Change in dependent count - Provide the LOE, proof and POF on satisfying dependent is added as a co-applicant.

So submit the AOR as soon as possible and be in safe side.
