Ielts Band Score

Just goty IELTS result Listening & Reading 6 Writing & Speaking 6.6 total band score 6.5 my agency told me to get 7.5 for listening & speaking & the rest would be 6.5. Will CIC reject my application because of my low result? What is the proper breakdown inorder to gather points

The score bands can be found here. I think you got 12, but i could be wrong so check for it yourself to make sure.

you won't be rejected on IELTS points alone, unless you don't have 67 points altogether.

rupesh is right, you get 12 points with these IELTS scores.

Now add up all the other points for age, education etc etc(check out cic website) and see how many points do you get. To this add 12, do you get a total of 67 or not....

No - the minimum score allowed for all four sections is a "6". Must improve your writing on your next exam!

Hi All,

Pls take 2 min to help me out...

I took the exam on oct 18th and got the score of L - 5.5 , R - 6.0 W - 5.5 S - 6.5 Over all 6.0 and during the second attempt which I took on Nov 22nd , I scored
Listening: 8.0
Reading: 5.5
Writing: 6.5
Speaking: 8.5
Overall: 7.0

I would like to apply for FSW in few days, Can I attach both the Marksheet and apply ? Will CIC accept my Marks ? and proceed forward?

No - you can't. You need to score at least 6 in each category on a single test. You cannot combine two tests. There is no point applying for FSW with the scores you have now. You will be automatically refused.

If you apply with with two scores - your application will be rejected!

From what I understand, one can only claim points for second official language if French is declared as my first official language whereas I have no knowledge of French and nor have given any test.can someone elaborate this?

Do you speak French? if NO - English would have to be your First Official Language.

Therefore, you must meet the minimum requirement for CIC, which is scoring a "6" or above in ALL four sections.

Failing to do so will result in automatic rejection of your application

Since you scored "5.5" in Reading - you must retake the test unfortunately.

Your agent is an idiot - fire him immediately. If you apply with the IELTS scores you have now your application will be automatically refused. If you declare French as your first language then you need to include test results with your application that prove you have a good knowledge of French. How exactly are you going to do this if you don't even know French? Again, fire your agent now.

It amazes me what some of the consultants would say to clients!
