Hello,

I have received an ITA on 11 January 2017. The confusing part is that the IELTS exam details are as following:
Test taken : 10/01/2015
TRF Issue Date : 23/01/2015

Until the last minute on 11th January my profile was perfectly fine. I didn't receive any notification regarding the IELTS expiry. Now, since I have received an ITA, I am a bit confused on whether or not my IELTS results meet CIC requirements regarding expiry. Will there be any cause for rejection if I applied now?!

I would appreciate your help guys, let me know if any of you had a similar experience with how CIC calculates IELTS expiry.

Cheers

in this case you are good as your ielts result is valid until 23/01/2017 and you have received an ITA based on your IELTS score which was Valid at the point when your received your ITA

I think you would need to retake IELTS and have the same or higher score. Language test expiry is a common reason for rejection. You can use it if you submit your e-APR before 23rd.

IT is a bit confusing ,Based on this i think you should be okay .
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/refuse.asp

Under section A11.2, an officer may not issue a visa to an applicant who did not or does not meet the Express Entry minimum entry criteria (MEC) or did not or does not possess the qualifications for which they received their CRS score at the time when

the Invitation to Apply (ITA) was issued; or
the e-APR was received by IRCC.

if there was AND/OR here that would've been a different story , but if either of these 2 requirements are full filled application is fine .

I appreciate all your responses, guys.

I am just confused with what date do they count the 2 year period from. Is it the date when the test was taken or the date when TRF was issued. I have already retaken the IELTS on the 7th and results will be out on the 19th but I am preparing myself for the worst case scenario of getting a lower score which will affect my CRS.

One more thing, did anyone experienced a situation where CIC had to send them a notification or deemed their Express Entry profile inactive due to language expiry?

the date of your test result,

Your test results must be valid (less than two years old) when you complete your Express Entry profile, and when you apply for permanent residence

According to my IETLS test report form, the results are valid up to two years from the date when the test was taken.

I believe DelPiero07 is right :-[

The Test Validity Period start from the Date of Exam and not when TRF was issued.

I am afraid your test is expired by the time you got ITA.

im afraid im wrong and people above are RIGHT , here is the proof :
TRF to Institution Deadlines Chart

All academic test takers will receive ONLY ONE original Test Result Form for their own copy. This is a very valuable document and should be stored in a secure location. Please do NOT send your personal copy to institutions or agencies. You will not receive a second personal copy. Please see Additional Test Report Form Requests below.

General Training test takers will receive one original Test Report Form. Within 2 years from the test date, General Training test takers may request ONE additional TRF. If test takers request this at registration, they will receive 2 TRFs (1 for their own copy and 1 for immigration purpose in a sealed envelope).

Test Centres are NOT permitted to give test results over the telephone, via fax or e-mail to either the test taker or the receiving institutions.

Test Report Form is valid for 2 years from the test day

The result is valid upto 2 years from the date that you sat the test and not the result date. I had clarified this point with communicating with IELTS officials.

This is getting mixed responses and becoming more confusing !

If my IELTS was invalid on the 11th of Jan (Time when I received the ITA), then how come the system didn't deactivate my profile until I re-take the exam?

EE wouldn't decativate your profile based on your Ielts test validation. It is a fairly new program , so expect some glitches and problems here and there . but it is clear as water to me that your test is not valid anymore , what you can do is , contact CIC and some lawyers to confirm this before declining

I am guessing following. The system was supposed to make your account ineligible but either at the end of 11.1. or at the end of the month. However since it was locked for ITA it had never chance to do that.
