Ielts academic scores needed for study in canada for a study gap of ten or more years

Hi All,

kindly advice me for the following. I am an Electronics engineer by profession and has been working in the IT sector from last ten years. Now i am planning to go to canada on a student visa and my age is 34 at the moment.
I have taken IELTS Academic and my overall score is 6.5 and individually the scores per module are as below.
listening 7.5,Reading 5.5,writing 6.5,Speaking 7.0.
Please let me know how to improve my chances in getting a visa as i am planning to take a diploma course in Durham College.
