IELTS : Academic Or General ???

Is it mandatory to take IELTS General Only or Academic score would work?

I have written both but got good in Academic,whereas General which claims to be simple by itself, I got very less band in that.

So, can I proceed with Academic scores for processing? ( As on express entry self check page, it doesn't says specifically for General unlike on other pages.

Please suggest.

For Immigration (PR) you need GT and not academic

IELTS General is needed for EE and immigration. IELTS Academic is meant needed for Student visa.

I second Jckal and Anuj. I have read that we have to take General Test for EE. This score will be converted to CLB ( Canadian Language Benchmark). For this, the conversion is only for GT (General Test) and not for AT ( Academic Test).
