As a matter of rule, the GENERAL version is the recommended version for Immigration purposes to Canada, Australia and NewZealand. However, there are numerous instances where they have accepted the Academic versions. If I were you, I will definitely put in the Academic version. If they do not accept it, they will definitely write to you to present the General version.Ahmad06 said:Pls advise me I hv academic IELTS which is not yet expired ..can i submit with my application or I must go for General module (IELTS) Seniors...
Apply with Academic. As everyone has mentioned that CIC accepts General but many visa offices also accept Academic.Ahmad06 said:Pls advise me I hv academic IELTS which is not yet expired ..can i submit with my application or I must go for General module (IELTS) Seniors...
YES, of course I had READ his/her question, even before answering him thank you. And just to correct your English, it is "DID you even READ his/her question", and not HAVE.mahharrouf said:Have you even READ his/her question?
OP is asking about whether user General IELTS or Academic ( which by chance is not expired yet), so CIC recommend you to go for General IELTS. Although I read one post in past where some one submitted Academic and was accepted, but when its one requirements of General IELTS, OP must go for general.
I heard that nurses, who plan to immigrate, need to take the Academic IELTS, instead of the General. Can u confirm that?rocky272727 said:I would like to clarify here why General is for Immigration and Academic is for studies. As the name suggests, General IELTS is accepted every where except for studies purpose...but Academic IELTS will be accepted almost everywhere. Though it is not mentioned in the OP manual but generally Academic IELTS is little difficult than General and Academic IELTS is to judge the proficiency on an individual for academic purpose and general is to test the proficiency for everything except academic.
In short, IELTS - General is as per the CIC rule. Academic might/shall be accepted by some visa office but it is safe to submit what is asked that is General.
It is for Canada Registered Nurse Placement Programpoissonmagique said:I heard that nurses, who plan to immigrate, need to take the Academic IELTS, instead of the General. Can u confirm that?
