Writing
Task 1: (Is this a informal or semi-formal letter – please reply)
Write a letter to your ex colleague that you are visiting his city. Also tell him that you would like to meet him/her.
In your letter mention:
—share your plan while you’ll be there
—to make necessary arrangements
Task 2:
In most countries, Weddings are bigger and more expensive nowadays than in the past.
Why is this the case?
Is it a negative or positive development?
I agree that beauty fits there. Before I heard the answer I thought that they will say 'better design'. Beauty is close to design, it's better fits the content. But I didn't hear beauty and heard only restoration that's why I wrote it.I suppose the word before the blank was "add"

One thought has just crossed my mind, if in the listening they said both words restoration and beauty. They both somehow fit with the lecture, probably the examiner mark both these answers as correct.I agree that beauty fits there. Started like ...hope this letter finds you in radiant health and the best of spirits. There's a really fine line in this discussion cause probably your colleague was your good friend and may be not. I still think it's semi formal. But I like how you started this letter, it's appropriate in semi style. The end is too informal, don't know how examiner looks at it.
