IELTS 16 points big problem ielts killing me

Dear all

now a days people are receiving letter from visa offices that your english is not good and your not welcome to canada you need to score 16 points what is this i have receive that letter that you have given sixty days to give any proof that you have good english i have send my ielts score with my full document and this was my score L 5 R 5 W 4.5 S 6 and he is not satisfy now i am send him new ielts registration test date and i am planning to go to pakistan to do some courses in lahore before the test in AEO center leave my family in saudi arabia for two months leave job for two month paying lot of money for living studing and for food if i don't get the score what i need what will happend? my score is 78 and visa officer is not satisfy what shall i do shall i contect canadian minister, does he will help or not?

Since when they are requiring high at IELTS? Or it depends on what permanent resident category you are applying? Just a question...

You have got 60 days time, make use of this time, study 8-10 hours everyday and appear in IELTS. Practice at home as much as possible. Concentrate hard during practice and test.
Writing to Immigration minister at this stage will not help.
Buy Cambridge IELTS 1-7 volumes and finish it 3-4 times in these days.

If you meet minimum 67 points for immigration then i donot see any justification for seeking another IELTS test. May be the Immigration officer did not received your IELTS score. Try to write them and find out.

MRS - this is latest trend, even if someone have more qualifying marks and they find that his english IELTS score is moderate they ask for hight proficiency.

as explorer said, this is the latest trend, but I have seen this for 4131, this is the first time I saw for another NOC. His score seems poor, at least when IO's are in hurry to make decisions on applications to fulfill their job within the deadline.

You scored total 6 points in IELTS- basic in 2 sections and moderate in another two. I dont think he can change substantial English quality in given 60 days. Practical thing he should do now, take a few practice tests and find out his bottlenecks and working on them as much as he can in. If he can change his score by a mere 0.5 in every section, he can at least has a reply to send and defend his application on the basis that the IO is considering a rejection.

Drooza , Dont lose hope ! you have been given 60 days, it means they will accept your application if you can change your score to a better one. I have seen in my life that people continously got improved score in repeated IELTS sessions.

a Draftsman needs more IELTS score in which basis - I dont know, Immigration system is just getting tougher n tougher !

hi u mentioned 16 points, in that case u must score as like S>6.5 - R>6.5 - W>6.5 - L>7.5
4 4 4 4 = 16 and it is optimum for CIC's language factor
My question is in which ground an IO directly expecting someones IELTS score like this allthough he/she has got 78 selection point.
I thing no one can achive this good score in IELTS under in heavy stress . Do they directly asked for optimum IELTS score or any evidence regarding your english.
Now a days we need to look in other options so No More for CANADA..........................................................................

The latest trend is they need 5-7 out 10 persons of 4131.
Doors have narrowed substantially for 4131s with lower IELTS.

so nice of you guys i am going to pakistan for some ielts exams curses in AEO Lahore pakistan i will study two month then i will give test on 25 sep 2010 but VO give me last date which one is 5 sep 2010 does he will wait for my results till 25 sep 2010 i am just sending ielts registration papers to him next week inshallah i hop i can make it.

Doorza case is little particular one and can not be compared to all FSW-1. He has a AEO in an occupation which needs specific skills in writing doc and understanding requirements as per VO

So his contention is that to do the job Doorza has applied under, he needs better English skills then what his IELTS score convey

Now it is up to us to think if it is justified or not.

As explorer 1 said the only option Doorza has is to give best shot at IELTS and pray for a good score.

Go also to BBC podcast, they have really good materials to listen to. For writing take the time to listen to EnglishRyan in Youtube. This sites helped me lot.

Nowadays this seems ridiculous to me that CIC is asking for better scores.
I havent heard a single story of failure in Canada for poor English.
The saddest thing is that they are doing this to lessen the applicant rather than something else. This isnt acceptable. They should say this at the 1st place about this hardened IELTS requirement policy. A guy scoring 67 and later got rejected for Lower score.
This seems like , i donno, I dont have any word to express this !
