IEC Working holiday to visitor

Hi,
I really hope you guys can help.
I'm currently on a Working holiday visa that is due to expire in a couple of weeks.
I applied a month ago online with MY CIC to extend my stay as a visitor, I have not heard back yet and the processing times have got way longer since I applied. What happens when my currrent visa expires if I have not been approved as a visitor?
Will I have to leave the country?

No, you don't have to leave. You have implied status until you receive a reply from CIC. You can't continue to work though when you IEC expires.
