Dear community,

I am currently applying for an IEC Young Professionals work permit. I have a question concerning the processing times, which now are supposed to be around 8 weeks. Firstly, upon submission of my application I have sent in only proofs of application for necessary police certificates. I was then requested to deliver the translated certificates, which I did already, but it took me around 4 weeks (all within the deadlines specified by the IRCC). Next, I was requested to submit another document, which I did immediately. My questions is the following: will those actions affect the avergae 8-week-long processing time? Does anyone have experience with that? I would appreciate your help!

Best wishes,
Filip

Just thought I'd update this for people with similar doubts ;) I have today - 1 day after sending in additional documents - received my letter stating that my application was approved. In total the process took exactly 5 weeks since I gave my biometrics. It seems that submission of additional required documents did not have an influence on the processing time, but one can never be sure.

All the best,
Filip

congrats!!
Once you had your biometrics taken did it say this anywhere in your application, as I had mine done a week ago but I’ve not been informed by immigration that it’s been received just not sure if this is normal. Thanks

In my application details there is a section 'Applicant Information' in the upper right corner, where my biometrics info appeared right after I gave my biometrics (biometrics number, date of biometrics enrolment and expiry date).
I also got an official letter that my biometrics were received and when they expire and some additional information, but that was on the day that my application was approved - weeks after I gave my biometrics.

Hope that helps!
