Hey guys

Need to know if anyone has been accepted at port of entry without travel insurance?

I have Alberta Health Care and a health insurance policy through my Canadian job and don't want to purchase travel insurance if I don't need too. Do you think it will get accepted with these?

Thanks for any opinons

Yes, if you don't get asked for it. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
No, if they ask you for proof of insurance.

Thing is, your Canadian health care and the insurance you get through your employer doesn't
include flying you back to your home country in an emergency or special treatments.
That's why it's a REQUIREMENT for IEC participants to purchase travel health insurance for the duration
of the stay in Canada.

Chances are that if you show up without proof of insurance, you will be rejected at the POE and don't get the IEC visa.

If you're financially sound you could try to find an insurance that allows you to cancel anytime for no fee.
So you could purchase the insurance for 12 months, and then cancel it once you're in Canada.
But be aware that this breaks IEC rules.

Since you already have coverage through your employer, why not just try to find the cheapest quote for travel insurance? The only thing you need is basically, repatriation and things like air ambulance. Moreover travel insurance will cover you on side trips to other countries, like the US.
