Hi there,
I'm a 26-year-old Australian currently taking part in the International Experience Canada Working Holiday Program.
I'm in the process of applying for a new IEC WHP work permit, but the recently introduced "Stage 2" of the process through CIC is throwing me for a loop.
I have received my conditional acceptance letter from the Canadian Consulate in Australia, and am now working my way through Stage 2 of the process, which seems much more convoluted and less refined. I have until August 19, so I think I still have plenty of time, but I am sure many of you are familiar with the feeling of an uncertain future a mere 9 weeks away.
Can I just say that these forums have already been a great help. You have answered a few of my questions already (I have no applied for a Canadian Police Certificate as well as an Australian one, for example.)
I nearly have everything I need, but had a question regarding the COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE issue that some have already described problems with. It seems the only way to get through the initial questionnaire with eligibility is to state that my country of residence was Australia. I have seen several people on this forum saying they had it on authority after finally hearing back from CIC that this was the case.
So my question is: When filling out the actual application forms, and family information forms, etc, they also ask about addresses and countries of residence. Do I, at this point, give my Canadian details of address and how long I've been here, etc? It feels like that is definitely what I should be doing, but I don't want to be found to have said anything that contradicts my initial answers on the questionnaire.
Thanks in advance,
Jack
