Hi Guys, So I am currently on my second year of the IEC Canada programme (I'm from England) My current employer of a year is sponsoring me, allowing me to stay in the country, the month of advertising my job is coming to an end and im hoping to get the application rolling as soon as, the only thing I am worried about is that my work visa expires on the 5th of September, I heard there is a way you can submit proof to the ESDC and this extends your work permit while a decision is being made, is this true? if so, who or how do I contact the ESDC to let them know of this? any information would be great, thanks!

Nope as you are on a IEC, so you can't get implied status. You have to stop work on the 5th and apply for an extension as a visitor.

Anyone have any idea how long LMO's are taking to process in Alberta for a Director of Food and Beverage within a Casino?

Question! Even with having a working visa and my LMO being processed, theres no way I can extend it during that time? the whole ban has made it very difficult as it probably would have processed and gone through in time had it not been for that. dammit.

If you're asking if your working holiday visa can be extended while you wait for the LMO to be processed - the answer is no. As PMM said, you need to stop working on the 5th and apply for an extension as a visitor. Once the LMO is approved and your new work permit is approved, you'll be able to start working again.

Your volunteer work will be illegal work and will make you removable from Canada. Any volunteer work that someone would normally be paid to do requires a valid work permit. So I guess the big question is how willing are you to completely jeopardize a future in Canada?
