IEC Invitation to Apply issue

Hi,

I recently received my invitation to apply for the IEC working holiday visa through the UK pool. It asks me however to give employee ID number and has my employer paid the compliance fee. I did state that a company was willing to employ me in the "Am I eligible Question" section and they still are. I am confused at why I am being asked for them to pay when i am being invited to apply for a open working holiday visa? I filled out the am i eligible section again without this job offer and was still eligible to apply. I am really worried that this will give me a closed work visa based on a technicality. I was aware that the UK could only obtain open working holiday visas? Can you really help me out and clarify any of my issues? Thank you in advance.

It seems to be a glitch in the new system, I've seen a couple of people in the same situation - if you have said yes to the job offer it requires the offer number and fee.

Can you change it? Or is there a way to input something and upload a letter of explanation?

Hey, looks like it's NOT error.

Take a look on this (easy to find in Google):c) Young Professionals and International Co-op (Internship) participants

You do not have to pay any additional fees, but your employer must pay a $230 CAD employer compliance fee and submit your offer of employment to CIC. Your employer must complete this step before you submit your work permit application.

If employer does not want to pay or have problems to do it, perhaps you can made a deal to pay it in his behalf.

Ask ID to your employer.

Do all quickly, don't let invitation expire

The problem being that you can't just pay the fee. They must login to the employer portal and put some more details including the job offer into it.

This would tie the person to the company for their work permit which if he is after the open working holiday permit isn't going to work.

So just ask the employer to do it.

Some employers are reluctant to pay fees, so be open to negotiate, it's NOT the right way but the important for you is to get your WP.

I don't know if it's possible for you to switch to to working holidays program, where a job offer isn't needed, but I guess if you get Invitation probably can't do it now.

So contact your employer, if finally doesn't works you probably should refuse the Invitation before expired, and make a profile with no job offer to try again

I understand what you guys are saying. I know that the UK pool which i was in does not have a young professional program, just WHV soi am disappointed and confused i guess.I got an email back from cic today asking to screenshot the error so maybe there is hope. I am neg with my employer to do this anyway but i would rather be on a open permit because the point is to explore beautiful Canada not just my first destination of Calgary for two years. Thank you for the replies :)

Understood.

The issue is you said you have a job offer so the system is acting like you're applying under Young Professionals stream.

When you're filling the profiles need to keep in mind what are you looking for, so if you're applying for Working Holidays you should said you don't have a job offer.

Obviously is a system glitch triggered by an unexpected answer.

CIC should be able to fix it, I'm sure you'll enjoy Calgary, specially the Rockies

Thank you for contacting International Experience Canada (IEC).

Employment offer ID

If you were asked to provide an “employer ID number(s), this is either because you have been invited in the Young Professional Category (If this is the case your Employer should have this information for you)

However if you were invited in the Working holiday program you would not have to answer this. Unfortunately the system is still asking for this number (This is a bug in our system that we are in the process of fixing).

Well, just upload this email with a small letter of explanation as "job offer"

Thanks for share it
