After trying to find answers with all the questions that are similar what options do me and my German GF have.

I am Canadian and my CommonLaw partner is German. Here 1 year IEC Youth work and travel Visa expires in less than a month. However, we have been in a relationship over a year already and fall in to the common law relationship status.

We plan to apply for an outland sponsorship but the questions i have are

1. does she have to leave the country when her visa expires and reenter to initiate a tourist stamp.
2. what other options do we have so she can work in canada and apply for outland? There is a Young Professional visa but can we still apply for an outland sponsorship?

we thought of inland but we are afraid that when she leaves to go to germany to visit her family everything will be seen as abandoned.

Generally someone from Germany would be better off applying outland. An inland application generally takes much longer, and it is advised not to leave Canada during processing.
