hi all!
So I'm Australian, currently living in Toronto on my first WHP. I'm going through my nightmare of a second application...
I did the "come to Canada" tool, and put Canada as my country of residence, but because my mum is a citizen (though she hasn't lived here in 30 years), I included that, an it presented me with a working visa, which I thought was right...
Turns out I was wrong, and I applied for the complete wrong visa, and was subsequently refused... Once I figured this out (after many tears), I put Australia in the Come to Canada tool, and submitted my correct application.
My visa expires on October 22, but I will be out of the country from October 17, so I'm really hoping it comes through before then. Does anyone have any recent experience with stage 2? CIC told me Stage 2 is sent back to Australia to be processed, but the Australian office said it's processed in Canada!
Also, I have a full time job, and I know that if I'm between visas I can't work, but would they need to fire me and re-hire me if there's a gap between my visas?
Any advice, experiences, or information anyone could provide me would be amazing!
thanks!
Zaz
