Hey guys,

currently on my second year of my PGWP, planning to apply for Permanent Residency under the CEC. My Current work permit expires in August 2017 and while I have a CRS of 469, I'm just weighing all my options to potentially boost my score, etc.

If worst comes to worst and I don't receive an ITA by the time my permit expires, I was wondering what the restrictions are to apply for IEC from inland on a PGWP. I'm 29 and as a German I'm supposedly eligible up until age 35.

Is applying for IEC and thus working on another open work permit a thing or does the PGWP hinder that in any shape or form?

No issues applying - go ahead.

Be aware that with IEC you enter a pool and no guarantee you get a visa plus Germany is 12 months at a time so assume to get the next 12 months you have to apply again if needed. For August 2017 then based on this year the process probably opens December/January for 2017. Also although others can confirm you probably would want to check that if an IEC is granted that it doesnt in some way cancel the PGWP given would be assigned to same passport number and probably the same CIC account. With only 269 points you are a very long way off the current average 470 plus to get a PR .

It was a typo. Currently sitting at 469 for my CRS score.

Which isn't quite 470 but I'm hoping for the numbers to drop a bit.
