IEC 2013 application opening date

Hiya everyone,

I'm planning on going to Canada on the IEC program. I've had everything I possibly can ready for months now, and I'm just waiting for the applications to open so I can just fill in the application form and send it off.

My problem is that we are now over half way through January and the website still just says that applications will open 'in the coming weeks'.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows when the applications will open - is it normal that it opens this late?? I'm just worrying that I've missed something, I desperately don't want to lose a place in the program because I was too late or did something wrong. I've seen in posts from last year that people have sent their applications as early as the 18th January!

I tried emailing them to ask but they just referred me back to the IEC homepage.

If anyone has any information or recalls from last year, I would be really really grateful.

They have just posted some news on a new application process that will open before February 1st.

"Please note that the 2013 IEC initiative has not yet opened for applications. It will open before February 1, 2013, and more information on the online process will be made available on this website."

In the past, it has opened earlier but there were rumors of a change. Their application will now be entirely online:
