Hello Friends

I live in India. I have completed my b. tech. in mechanical engineering from India and master of engineering in manufacturing technology from Australia. I am currently working in India and have over 2 years of work experience as quality engineer. The main job responsibilities since last 2 years are as follows:

1. Inspecting Mechanical components for quality based upon drawings (doing it myself and supervision as well).
2. Preparing Inspection reports.
3. Analyisng and solving productions related problems and preparing reports for the same.
4. Preparing, commenting and updating manufacturing quality plans for inspections of mechanical equipments and machinery
5. Performing Non-destructive tests and destructive tests on mechanical components to check for quality and preparing reports accordingly.
6. Suggesting and implementing engineering design changes.
7. Suggesting and implementing safety measures within the firm.
8. Doing production process analysis using various analytical techniques and suggesting measures to improve the process and hence productivity.
9. Making quality control plans and work instructions for machine shops and assembly shops.

Kindly guide me regarding the NOC category out of 29 categories, in which I can apply, if there's any category applicable in my case..?

Thanx in advance

one more issue, since i have master of engg. degree...but i have never worked on a post as big as engineer only. My reference letters states all the responsibilities which a "mechanical inspection foreman/supervisor" performs. In addition to that I ve performed many other duties befitting for a mechanical quality engineer like making quality plans, suggesting implementing design changes etc etc. These are stated in my reference letters as well. Now will it be problem being highly qualified for a job title of mechanical inspection supervisor/foreman (NOC 7216) ?

Secondly, do my extra duties other than the duties of mechanical inspection foreman/supervisor would cause any problem for me...?

what I feel is I am way more qualified than mechanical inspection supervisor...though I am performing all the duties pertaining to this job tittle...but I am also performing many other duties which are though in same line as this job tittle asks for but are performed by seniors and more qualifued people...will it br any issue...?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
@Bhatia

I'm a NOC 7216 applicant myself who still preparing all my requirements. I'm an Electronic Engineer and have a work experience in offset printing production management. Before considering to apply under this NOC, I checked first the main duties and responsibilities of 7216 job description and it somewhat similar to the job I have. Please see link: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Profile.aspx?val=7&val1=7216

My instinct says I should go ahead in applying and optimistic about it. There is always the possibility to be rejected because the assessor's interpretation will still be subjective. He may feel that I'm not qualified based on my experience but what the hell! I will apply anyway in my belief and interpretation.

If you feel your work experience is somewhat similar to the duties stated in the link above. Go for it! In my opinion, your enumerated experiences is quite good for 7216 NOC. It is not the job title that matters but the main duties and responsibilities.

Of course you should take the self-assessment first if you meet the required points (67 points). http://www.cic.gc.ca/english//immigrate/skilled/assess/Education.asp

Regards.
