BCIT?Hi guys. I'd like to get my educational credential done from ICES. One thing that confuses me is how exactly will ICES know that university is sending _my_ documents to them? Like WES, will ICES have an applicant reference number that I can share with the university when requesting them to send the documents to ICES? (so that ICES may know the documents are mine)
What is the overall process here?

Did you got your ECA done by ICES?
If yes, did you had to give any transcript request form to the university which was sent along with your transcripts to the ICES? Its stressing me out as there is no clarity on ICES website. Please help .

Thanks a lot for replying . I just wanted to confirm that all that is needed is transcript and degree copy in the sealed envelope. You did not included the " request for academic transcripts form" along with the transcript and degree copy? I am sharing the link of the form . I am confused to include it or not? I simply got in touch with my university and requested them to send an official/attested transcript in a sealed envelope along with official copy of degree certificate. Along with that, I requested my college to specify my study location, course delivery disclosure as well as language course was completed in on the letterhead of the college and got it signed/stamped from the registrar at the uni - this was just for a safety precaution.
What you need to do is, arrange for your uni to send official transcript in a sealed envelope along with official copy of degree certificate to ICES which can either be mailed to ICES from university or emailed by the university through it's official email.

Same kind of form is present for WES which ,one of my friend got done and he did included this form. While confirming the process for ICES , i searched if there was a similar form present and found thus one and as it was present on their official website , it made me more skeptical.Nope, I did not include that form. In fact, this is the first time I am actually seeing it. I emailed ICES a couple of times before having my documents sent and they told me that all I needed were transcript and degree. How did you come across this form?
Edit: It does no harm in sending the form along with your documents. If you do choose to send it, make sure you get it filled from someone at your university and have them send it in the same envelope as your other documents. When you make the payment at your account portal page on ICES's website, you get a reference number there.
Basically, you share that reference number with your uni and have them write it on transcript sealed envelope as well as on the main envelope that will contain both your transcript and degree certificate. Pretty much all the info in that form should be present in your transcript anyway.
Just another silly one crossing mind i guess, need to ask this one too.You have written you requested OFFICIAL COPY of degree certificate. Official copy as far as i know is to be in a sealed envelope sent by university . Did you request them to put a copy of your degree in a sealed envelope? In the online procedure of ICES, the portal asks me to upload coloured scanned copy of degree, transcript , and official documents to be sent from university and in the requirement tab for official document it is written that transcript may suffice . Upload required documents that you have on your online portal. Then have your university attest the copy of your degree by signing it (seal and stamp) and have them send it in one big envelope that will also include your transcript in it's own sealed smaller envelope. So both the bigger and smaller envelopes within will be sealed and stamped by the uni on the flaps.
That's what I did.

Generally speaking you'll get a client number when you apply and as long as that client is on the official documents, then they'll match them with your application.Hi guys.
