Everyone,

I've been on Work Permit since Feb 9th, 2022(LMIA Approved) - NOC 2171/21222 (Information Systems Specialist), and my Work Permit is valid until Feb 9th 2024.

When I submitted the Express Entry application yesterday, I chose Job Offer = Yes, as I've been working as a Full Time Employee for my Employer for 1 yr (with approved LMIA & WP), but for some reason, I didn't get 50 points for Job Offer, what could be the reason?

Does my job offer used for Work Permit have to be valid for over 1 Year starting the date I filled the Express Entry Application?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
MM

You need a new job offer stating that you will be employed one year past PR. You cannot use the one you got from your LMIA last February.

Thanks for the quick response!

Getting an updated Job Offer from my Employer wouldn't be a problem.

Question: Do I need a new LMIA for it, or just the Job Offer will suffice, as I've been an Employee for 1 yr with this Employer?

Thanks,
MM

Thanks again for you quick response!

I updated the incorrect selection about Seasonal vs Non-Seasonal, and it took over 24 hrs to update the points, I see 50 points added now.

Thanks for the link, I see it that I won't need a new LMIA (as I've been with this Employer on Work Permit for 1 yr), but I'll get a new job offer while applying (when invited).

Thanks for all your help!

Glad it updated. You do not need a new LMIA. All the best.

Hi there,

Just curious how you got this sorted? I'm in a very similar situation. I've been on a Wok Permit since October 2022 (LMIA approved) and when I opened my EE profile and put in the details that I'm currently working for a LMIA approved employer etc. I didn't get the 50 points for the job offer. Is it because I still don't have 1 year of Canadian experience? If so, will I get the 50 points after 1 year of experience?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

You should qualify for the 50 points immediately if you are on an LMIA supported work permit. It sounds like you may be answering one or more questions in your profile incorrectly. Have a look through those again. If you still can't find the problem, post the questions and your answers to each here.

Thank you for your quick reply! I just re-checked and it was indeed a question answered wrong. It had to do with the job being non-seasonal. Really appreciate your input here )
