I WAS TOLD BY IRCC AGENT THAT GETTING PORTAL 1 EMAIL DOESN'T MEANS YOU ARE APPROVE! ONLY WHEN YOU GET THE ECOPR THAT'S WHEN YOU ARE APPROVED . AND HERE I THOUGHT THAT MY APPLICATION WAS APPROVED SMH. THIS WHOLE PROCESS IS EXHAUSTING I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MORE THAN TWO WEEKS TO GET PORTAL 2 FROM THE LAZY VISA OFFICE MONTREAL.

Show the agent below content posted on official IRCC website canada.ca !! It clearly states that you will receive the email for residence confirmation only after IRCC approves your PR application. You will officially become a permanent resident once you receive the eCOPR though!

How the portal works
If we approve your application, we’ll

• send you an invitation to confirm
  • your email address
  • all email addresses for each person on your application
  • you’re in Canada
• create an account for you (you can’t create one yourself)
• send another email with your temporary account details
