I was studying abroad and visited my home country during my study, should I log this as part of my travel history and how would I label it?

You should make a mention of every stamping on your passport. I feel there is nothing to hide, just some more pages to fill.

And DO MENTION all this in your LOE to make the VISA OFFICER's job easier.

I didn't include the trips between home country ( India) and country of residence(NZ) in the travel history as IRCC clearly mention its not required.Even the call Agent told me its nor required. hence, its your choice to be on the safe side to include them but its not mandatory.
