Hi

I am Arun , I am not able to stay for last 3 years in Canada after my landing , but now I am planning to go to canada and my PR card valid until 2016 sept.
But here the issue is that I was not able to meet the number of days needed to get PR card , Is any one know there is any way I can land there and extend my dates ?

Please help.

It is not possible to extend your days. If you want to keep your PR status, you must meet the residency obligation by living in Canada for 2 out of every 3 years.

If you are able to enter Canada without being reported for failing to meet the residency obligation, then you will have to remain in Canada (without leaving) until you meet the residency obligation. Then you will be able to apply to renew your PR card.

Hi Thanks for your kind reply ... Appreciate ...

One more clarification ... I have only less than 2 year now remaining from the 5 year allowed for PR visa and before I have stayed only 2 weeks in Canada ... So now in this situation I can understand from you reply that I have to travel and stay there for more than 2 year than then apply for PR card ? am I correct ? Please correct me if I am wrong .

Thanks again.

Yes - you're right. And during those 2 years you shouldn't leave Canada even for one day.

Scylla would you mind me asking one quick question a PR holder if he completed RO that is 730 days

and the PR card expires and he is in his home country can he renew PR card from his country or if he wants to

enter Canada what he needs to do.

1. No, you can only renew a PR card in Canada.
2. If your card is expired, you would have to get a PR Travel Document to return to Canada if you are from a country that requires a visa to enter Canada.

Yes - the TD can be refused if CIC doesn't think you meet the PR residency requirement.
