I want to visit my boyfriend thru’ visitor visa

Hello ! Im a J1 visa holder and currently living here in Grand Marais Mn USA. Its an hour away to Thunder Bay Canada( it just needs to cross the Boarder ) where my boyfriend lives . His a Canadian citizen . We met online for almost 7 months thru’ online and im planning to visit his place after my contract here . He has a stable job and he just bought a house too. We applied before for a tourist visa and i was denied due to financial stability, family ties and lucking of proof that i will have to live the country after the visit. Right now, were trying to apply again for the same visa and hoping it will work this time, the purpose of travel is to attend his cousin’s wedding . Can somebody help us here in our situation ?
