I want to get married but i can't go to my home country: protected person

I really want to know what i can do cuz i would like to get married to my gf but i can't go to my country, i tried to get married in a third country but it is too expensive. my question is: would be a proxy marriage valid in canada performed in my home country knowing that i can't go back to my country because i am protected person? i know that proxy marriages in my home country are valid. what should i do?

I think the marriage will be valid, however you may lost your protected person status, cuz u reeturned to your country

Do you know how long the process takes after getting married in a third country? I do not have PR, I have applied but waiting for it. Is my partner gonna get visitor visa or work permit to get in canada after we applied?

Impossible to say how long sponsorship will take especially if you have minimal in person relationship time. Assume it will also be difficult for many family and friends to travel to a 3rd country for the wedding which would explain in your application. It may be very difficult for your spouse to join you before getting PR approval partially because you are a protected person and their country of origin. You can only apply for sponsorship once you have PR yourself. Never hurts to try.

I did not know that I can not sponsor my partner without my PR. I spoke with a paralegal and he said that we can do it but my partner can not get visitor visa during that time. I do not have much options I guess

You can add your spouse to your PR application but you’ll receive your PR and then her PR will be processed after your application is approved. Given your asylum application it will likely be very difficult for your spouse to come to Canada before they get PR.
