Hello
I am a new immigrant (landed 1 year ago as Quebec skilled worker) and I need to bring money from Egypt (Approx. 40K US$). What is the best way to bring it in regard to restrictions by Egyptian borders and by Canadian borders

I am currently settled in Ontario and planning to travel to Egypt within 2 months

On the Canadian side, it's simple. If you have more than $10,000 equivalent in CAD, report it. Due to fluctuations in currency values, if you have anywhere near $10,000, report it.

Be prepared to explain why you have the money (moving affairs from Egypt to Canada is perfectly fine), and some sort of documentation (for example, bank receipts, sales contracts, etc.) is always a good thing.

I know of people who have flown with $400,000+ in cash. The government counted and documented it, and sent them on their way. The documentation is intended to help combat money laundering - if you are regularly bringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars, they want to make sure it was earned legally and is not drug money or terrorism related.

thank you for your reply but my concern basically is about restrictions from the Egyptian side because of limitation to pass borders with currencies on hand

No one knows anything or in a position to give a crucial word on the Egyptian side. Only SISI can do no one else. Too bad, so sad. isn't it?

If you have an answer to the question go ahead and answer it. If you don't like my opinion, just simply ignore it. I didn't ask your opinion on my comment so keep your words to yourself and mind your own business.
You are the real dumb ignorant coz I said the truth and you want to twist it.
