I did my re-test on 9th of Oct 2013 in Scarborogh and waiting for the oath.MY PR cart expired tomorrow.
:(

So did you find out if you passed? If this has to go to a Judge Hearing then you may be best to renew your PR Card.

I pass the test!00%.After the test we wait to tell us .The officer said i pass. And i am waiting for oath letter and did not renew my PR cart.

It is your responsibility to renew your PR card. Do it. If you get citizenship soon, CIC will refund the cost of your PR card. I think it's only $50 or $100, so best to do it to be safe, right?

Do you even need your PR card? Are you going out of the country soon? As far as I know, having a PR card is not required to become a citizen.

You need PR status to become a citizen, and if you don't have a card that might be hard to prove.

Yup. You need to surrender your PR card on the day of the oath ceremony. I assume they will check if the PR card didn't expire.

An expired PR card does not mean you no longer have PR status. PR are not required to have a PR card. COPR document should be enough to establish status.

A COPR just proves that you once landed in Canada as a PR. It does not prove that you are still a PR.

There is no requirement to have a PR card in order to apply for citizenship. Citizenship officer/judge is supposed to accept COPR as proof of PR status unless there is an active investigation of your status by immigration collegaues they are made aware of.

Thank you everyone for your answers ! I hope to get the invitation letter soon, to become citizen and be able to travel some where warmer. Good luck to everyone.

Good luck - its hard to tell how long it will take to the oath without having some more detail on your application as this will indicate if there is a risk of a post test RQ. It all depends on if you want to spend 50 bucks on a new PR Card or not really.

Absolutely. Be responsible and keep your PR card up to date, as you would renew any other government card.
