I tried to apply for EE in 2017 but was not eligible at the start. What has changed since then and how can I make sure that I make it this time?

I started to have an interest to immigrate to Canada with my family back in 2017 but unfortunately I got rejected from the early stage. That's why I did not get very far and was easily discourage to move on. I really couldn't remember what happened or how I got rejected. I think they never really said it but just today, I stumbled on a screenshot on my dropbox of a page where it said that I'm not eligible. Here's the screenshot. Unfortunately, that's all I have. No emails, no other documentations. My questions are:
  1. From that screenshot, it says that I didn't get the minimum criteria. What was the minimum criteria before back in 2017?
  2. What has changed from 2017 to now? Has the criteria of getting at least an EE been changed a lot? Is it easier to get an EE than it was before?
  3. Can I retrieve that information to know where my entry has failed so I can make them better?
Since then I have more work experience and have relevant certifications. I guess I didn't want to have the same feeling as before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

1. The minimum criteria hasn't changed since 2017.
2. Nothing really. It's still the same. You have gotten older so that means you may lose points due to your age and that may make it more difficult for you to qualify.
3. Start by determining if you have 67 points now under the FSW points system. Don't worry about the past. You need to have a valid IELTS test (or other accepted language test) and must have completed ECA. Calculate your points here:

Just to add - there is no way to determine at this point why you were deemed ineligible in 2017. Look at the link I provided above and determine if you have the 67 points required now to qualify.

Oh - and I would say that it is harder to be selected through EE today than it was in 2017. Points have gone up and there's more competition.

Thanks scylla. I have gone through theat EE eligibility tool and I got more than the minimum points. I'm done with my IELTS but I'm still waiting for my WES application. Didn't know it will take 45 days of processing.

Have you calculated your CRS points? That's the next step.

The FSW points are the minimum requirements and as long as you have 67, you're good.

But what determines if you will actually be selected is how many CRS points you have. Calculator here:

Yes, I have tried that and I'm only scoring 300+ on that tool. That's why I'm trying to get a provincial nomination. I'm researching my options now. Thank you!
