I hope you are doing well. Well , I took an unofficial break during my studies I know legally this is not acceptable but I want to know from you if anyone has taken the same decision and later got accepted or refused on pgwp? Please share thank you.

As per IRCC, you won't be eligible.
But there are some cases where people explained the situation and got approvals.
There have also been some rejections too.

It was a personal reason. I had a serious family issue which unfortunately can not be proved legally.

You have no other option than writing an LOE.
Unless you want to do another program.



I'd say apply for PGWP with a good LOE, and if refused go for a new program.

I would like to confirm this, I was in the same situation and my gap was way bigger about 2+ years and I did extend my study permit on the basis of of the gap and later I was issued 3+ years of work permit as well..
If you want I can give you the info of the lawyer who did all the process for me !
Dont stress out, everything g works out in this country and considering the current situations, everything related to IRCC is gold

Hi guys even I have the same issue. I have failed few courses in my last semester and I have to retake those courses again Inorder to complete that program. So those courses are available only in Jan term. I did my last semester in august and to do that courses again I have to wait till Jan, so from sep to dec I will be getting unofficial gap. But I stopped working in august itself. Can I explain this situation while applying to pgwp and get approved?
