Hi all,

I have applied for my Ontario PNP via Human Capital Priority Stream after receiving the letter of interest. Recently my application package was returned, and until then I learnt that I need to include all my prior study/work permits to the application (I misunderstood the guide and thought I only needed to send my current work permit).
It was then I realized I couldn't find my very first study permit (2008-2009), I have had 3 of them over the course of my study in Canada (1 for grade 12, 2 for my university study), I think I somehow lost it due to frequent moving over the years.
Now I only have 1 month to resend my application, and I have no idea how to fix this situation.
According to CIC, I can apply for a replacement, however, here is what is written in their guide:

You may request a replacement of a current and valid temporary resident document if it is lost or stolen. You must provide the police report number proving that your current and valid temporary resident document has been lost or stolen.
The replacement I need is not a current permit, it was expired long ago, and I don't have a police report for it. So it looks like I couldn't even apply for a replacement?
Even if I could, the processing time is 1 month, I will not make it to the PNP application deadline...

Now I am feeling so desperate, first thing tomorrow morning I will call CIC/Ontario government to seek help, I doubt that they would care since it is entirely my oversight, perhaps I should call the high school I attended for grade 12 to see if they have a copy of my study permit at that time, but I feel like this is a long shot.

If you have read all this, then you have my thanks already, right now I am just feeling so bad about myself and this whole situation, perhaps the wise people here can offer some advice/sympathy.

Thanks for reading.

I would recommend you contact CIC and explain the situation. As CIC themselves expect a police report in case of a lost "current" temporary resident document, its quite likely a LOE explaining the situation along with your other 2 resident permits would suffice. Best to check with CIC obviously.I don't think an application would be rejected only on the basis of non availability of old and expired documents.

I don't know how to solve your problem. I have a similar problem. I am applying for OINP too. I lost my work contract for the year 2005-2008. I know the contract is additional. But if they ask me for that, I will just have no way to provide it. so worried...
Anyway good luck to u! Maybe your previous school can help you with that.

@dan 89: Yeah, they're somehow weird like that. I got my package returned for not providing to them my entire passport where my TRV was stamped (I only sent them the biodata and TRV pages the first time), even if that passport was expired more than 4 years ago. That requirement was written nowhere in the application guide. I was able to provide it to them, but I hope in your case a letter of explanation for the lost study permit will suffice. Can you get to send them your passports and TRVs during your periods of study?
