I stand for permanent residents of Canada

When I registered in this website, the conservative started playing with immigration and immigrants and did not show respect and treated us as a potential future second class citizens and toughened the roles of immigration, we are not against any roles or regulations that make Canada safe but without any discrimination or racism or adding the suffer of future Canadians who were or still currently permanent resident. This category of people loves Canada as Canadian citizens do. These people waited years before they come to Canada and with the conservatives new immigration laws, it is becoming more longer waiting time to become citizens of Canada and pay more money to process their applications and they cannot go overseas for vacations or visit families, and friends overseas.

Because of the racism, and unfair treatment I promised myself with my family, friends and colleagues and new citizens to vote against conservatives and vote for any other party so conservative be defeated.
We may not be able to revert the racist bill C24 but we were able to kick ass of Harper and his racist conservative for a better Canada and a chance for permanent residents to live and become our lovely new citizens without fear of being second class Canadian. A Canadian is Canadian whether born in Canada or overseas and whether citizen of today or 100 years ago.

For this reason and I already had my citizenship and passport and pray for all to have their own citizenship and passport to build our great new home of Canada. I voted for the change. I am not selfish, to think of myself after I had what I dreamed of but I do care about the follower who will follow our footsteps and decided to kick away the obstacle which was Harper and his racist cabinet and conservatives.

I do agree that most of the permanent residents of Canada including me pursued the family members, friends to give vote to anyone except conservatives. During my discussion, I felt many who were Canadian 1st or even 2nd generation feared of being 2nd class irrespective from the coutnry they come from. Many were confused if wrong decision had been made to come here to Canada and what will be the future state..

I am not a Canadian citizen and I did not vote of course but I worked hard in my community and on the net to help defeating them. I am so happy the job is done. Still we have a lot of work in the future to erase all racism from Canada. I hope Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian will be a reality. Still so many things to be changed. After becoming a Canadian I dream to burn the record of landing and do not need it anymore. Why we do not have the right to have an identity cards? Why there is difference in senior pension according to dates of your arrival to Canada? I have so many questions about discriminating laws and role created by the conservative government which never stopped to divide Canadians. We have a lot of work to do to guarantee a fair and good life for us and for our children

You will do well to hang on to your Record of Landing Paper which is required later in life when you are going to collect Old Age Pension, that document will then be checked.

I stand for Canada. I see nothing racist about C-24 (not sure how it can be racist or discriminatory when it applies to all immigrants, regardless of race of ethnicity) and will support any initiative that strengthens the value of Canadian citizenship. I am tired of our system being abused by citizens of convenience, and believe that most of C-24 is a step in the right direction to correcting that. That said, I voted Liberal this election primarily because I wasn't happy with Harper's foreign policies and the culture he was promoting within Canada.

Now that we have a new government, I earnestly hope that they don't commit the same mistakes as the last Liberal government, particularly in the areas of immigration. Trudeau has made many foolish promises to date without thinking about how the incremental expenses will be funded (get ready for higher taxes) and hopefully rationality prevails in Ottawa at the end of the day.
